Eulogies Flow for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

More than two weeks after the tragic deaths of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt ready to share openly about his personal sorrow.

"Enough time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the production, adding that he cannot recall "any day without joy".

"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

Recently, a Los Angeles judge agreed to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order issued a restriction on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the result of homicide, with a official listing citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Response and Criticism

Following the deaths, public figures shared varying responses.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing divisive claims that were met with immediate backlash by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his voice to the detractors last week. Speaking on his program, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disturbing" and suggested they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by suggesting that an adviser could have intervened when the impulse to speak on the tragedy was made.
